Here at Tred, we've put a number of security measures in place to keep your account and money safe! 🔐
☝️ Requiring biometrics to open the app
Your biometrics are completely unique to you and are currently the only way you can log into our app. (We're currently also working on introducing a passcode alternative for those of you who don't have biometrics on your device, or your current biometrics are unreliable!)
📧 Two factor authentication to log in
When you log into the app, we'll send you a magic link to your registered email then an SMS verification code to your registered phone number, rather than asking for a password. This means that only you can log in and no one can guess or even steal your password. To keep your account safe, make sure that no one else has access to your emails.
🛍️ Taking you through OTP verification when you pay online
When you make an online payment, we'll send you a One Time Passcode (OTP) verification code to your registered phone number, then ask you to enter your personal Tred Passcode (which you can find in the app under 'My Cards' > 'Online Payment Passcode'). No one else should have access to your registered phone number or Online Payment Passcode, so these checks help keep your money protected if someone else gains access to your card details.
❄️ Giving you the ability to freeze and unfreeze your card in the app
Freezing your card means that no one will be able to make payments using your physical card or card details. You can use this function if your card is lost or stolen, or if there are unrecognised transactions on your account, to keep your funds protected from potential fraud.
📲 Notifying you when a purchase is made on your card or when a payment is declined
If you get notified about any transactions you don't recognise, freeze your card in the app immediately and contact us at support@tred.earth. Make sure that you turn on notifications for Tred in your device settings to be notified straight away when a transaction is made.
🤳 Notifying you when your email address or phone number is updated
If your registered phone number or email address on your Tred account is changed, we'll notify you by email. If you get notified that your details are changed in the app and it wasn't by you, contact us immediately at support@tred.earth.
