We have partnered with a couple of well-established and responsible reforestation and rewilding partners, one who works on a global scale and another who is based in Yorkshire. Both take a holistic approach to restoring landscapes, making sure that any action that is taken benefits people and the environment, and we have rigorously vetted their processes and practices to ensure that they are effective for the long-term.
Wild Ingleborough 🌳🌱
This project on Ingleborough Natural Nature Reserve aims to restore the natural habitat on 1,200 hectares of land in the Yorkshire Dales, where fragmented and small areas of native woodland prevent the movement of wildlife across the landscape. It is managed and supported collaboratively by Natural England, the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, the Woodland Trust, the University of Leeds, the United Bank of Carbon and WWF.
The reserve is part of a SSSI (Site of Scientific Interest) and so, the area is indefinitely protected for conservation efforts, which means that every penny given to the project is going towards a long-term effort to restore this area of natural importance.
Some of the Tred team have visited the site with the team working on the project to do some tree-planting and we were really impressed by their knowledge about and care for the specific ecosystem and landscape they are operating in. It was also great to see the excellent progress of reforestation carried out over the last few decades and understand how our current efforts will bring future benefit.

Eden Reforestation Projects 🌍🌴
The other organisation we support is Eden Reforestation Projects, who monitor over 240,000 hectares of land across Africa, Asia and South America. They take a holistic, bottom-up approach and centre their reforestation and conservation work around the relationships they have with local communities. As a result, these projects have created over 6,000 jobs for people in underserved geographies, and a great sense from the local people of ownership and protecting the forests for the long-term.
Eden Reforestation Projects work with all levels of government to secure written agreements that perpetually protect the forest land, and they also hire forest guards to ensure that the restored landscape is maintained.
