We’re only working with well-established reforestation and rewilding organisations that have really strong measures in place to ensure that the reforested landscape will thrive and not be damaged or later used for other purposes. This is so that the forests will continue to provide a variety of benefits for the environment and local communities into the future 🌍
The trees planted in Yorkshire with Wild Ingleborough are on the Ingleborough National Nature Reserve (NNR), which is part of a larger Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI). And so, the area is indefinitely protected for conservation efforts, which means that every penny given to the project is going towards a long-term effort to restore this area of natural importance.
Similarly, Eden Reforestation Projects work with all levels of government to secure written agreements that perpetually secure the land as being used for forest, and they also hire forest guards to ensure that the restored landscape is maintained and protected.
